Bravo Dome LocationThe Bravo Dome is a geological formation located in Northeastern New Mexico in Union and Harding Counties. Bravo Dome field and its associated Bravo Dome Unit covers an area of roughly 800,000 acres producing primarily CO2 (carbon dioxide). Kinder Morgan owns approximately 11% of the Bravo Dome Unit. Bravo Dome Field Production

Oil and Gas Companies active in the Bravo Dome include the following: Kinder Morgan, Amaco, and Mobil

The Bravo Dome field has approximately 350 wells.

Bravo Dome CO2 Use

CO2 from the Bravo Dome is transported via Pipeline to West Texas for use in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects. The use of CO2 in EOR projects involves injecting the CO2 into mature oil fields for the purpose of recovering incremental oil reserves. The economics of enhanced oil recover projects fluctuate according to the price of crude oil.
